The strength of the Sidney Area Chamber lies in its dedicated committees—groups of passionate members and leaders who volunteer their time to drive progress, celebrate our heritage, and build a thriving community. Each committee focuses on key areas that support our mission and enrich life in Sidney.

Agriculture Committee

Meets: Third Thursday of each month at 11:00 AM at the Chamber Building

Chair: Hanna Jepsen

Signature Events: MonDak Ag Days & Trade Show (March), Ag Appreciation Golf Tournament (July)

What They Do: This committee champions Sidney’s agricultural roots by promoting ag-related businesses, recognizing excellence in the field, and integrating agriculture into Chamber events and outreach. They also select the Agriculture Award recipient honored at the Annual Awards Banquet.

Annual Banquet Committee

Meets: As Needed

Chair: Current Board President

Signature Event: Annual Awards Banquet (3rd Monday of January)

What They Do: This committee plans the Chamber’s Annual Awards Banquet, held annually each January to celebrate the previous year’s successes and honor businesses and individuals with awards.

Leadership Task Force

Meets: First Wednesday of each month at 10:00 AM at the Chamber Building or via Zoom

Chair: Jessica Chamberlain

Programs: Sidney Area Leadership Program (September–April), Leadership Graduation (April)

What They Do: Founded in 1998, the Sidney Area Leadership Program (SAL) is designed to develop the leadership potential within our community. The Leadership Task Force oversees class participants and assists in planning and executing the program each year.

Sports & Rec Committee

Meets: Meets as needed at the Chamber Building or via Zoom

Programs: Sports Tournaments & Meets, Hospitality Rooms, NFL Play-off Books, Concessions

What They Do: The Sports & Rec Committee works closely with the school district to plan bids, hospitality rooms, and volunteers for sports tournaments, attends meetings to present bids for tournaments and state/divisional activities, and promotes Sidney as a site for area sporting events.

Trade Promotion Committee

Meets: Second Wednesday of each month at 8:00 AM at the Chamber Building or via Zoom

Programs: Big Bucks Loan Program (November-December), Chamber Bucks, Christmas Cash Giveaway (November), Christmas Stroll & Parade of Lights (Day after Thanksgiving)

What They Do: This committee plans promotions throughout the year to draw shoppers to the area and promote Sidney as a regional trade center. It also plans the annual Christmas Stroll & Parade of Lights, a full day event designed to kick off the Christmas season with activities, events, sales, and a parade with over 50 entrants!

This committee also plans seminars and workshops to educate businesses and their employees in customer service, tax changes, debt collection, and other employer concerns.
