What began as a return home turned into a cornerstone of Sidney. In 2007, Anissa Beagle purchased a local restaurant as an opportunity to reconnect with her roots. Originally opened as La Fiesta, the business was rebranded to Sunny’s just a year later—and has been a local favorite ever since.

Known for more than just good food, Sunny’s has become a gathering place. “We’re a community hub,” says Anissa. “People come for the coffee and meals, but stay for the conversation.” The restaurant also organizes holiday raffle giveaways, rolls out seasonal menu specials, and actively supports local fundraisers and events.

Anissa credits her strong team with helping her maintain balance between work and personal life. “I’m lucky to have an incredible staff. Because of them, I can plan days off and even take the occasional vacation.”

As for the future, Anissa sees online commerce playing a bigger role in Sidney’s business landscape. “With technology becoming more efficient and accessible, I think more small businesses—mine included—will benefit from its convenience.”

With its welcoming atmosphere and deep community ties, Sunny’s remains a shining example of small-town success.
