Lorilee Norby
Finance Manager, Hurley’s Enterprises
Lorilee Norby is the Finance Manager for Hurley’s Enterprises, where she combines a strong background in business management and accounting with a genuine passion for helping others succeed. Whether she’s balancing budgets, streamlining systems, or tackling, complex problems, Lorilee is motivated by the opportunity to collaborate, build strong relationships, and see firsthand the difference that smart, ethical financial practices can make for individuals and organizations alike.
A native of Elmdale in eastern Montana, Lorilee was raised on a farm and ranch and gained her experiences that taught her the values of hard work, resilience, and community. These principles continue to guide her personally and professionally. She earned both her bachelor’s in business accounting and her Masters of Professional Accountancy from Montana State University. She faithfully cheers “Go Cats”! whenever they are competing and she is a licensed CPA in the state of Montana.
Lorilee’s career path has been shaped by more than just numbers; her love of connecting with people and helping them achieve their goals through financial insight. After spending several years living and working in Alaska, she made the decision to return home to Montana, a move she describes as one of the best choices for her family’s future. Her late husband, Jeremy Norby, continues to be an enduring presence in her life. His memory inspires Lorilee as she raises their three children, Ella, Ave, and Beckett, with strength, grace, and intention. Together they form a close-knit family that finds joy in everyday moments and shared resilience.
One of Lorilee’s former employers in our area was Duane Michell of Mitchells Oilfield. Duane had these words about Lorilee, “Lorilee was our CFO for years; she oversaw several offices across the Bakken and was a very hard worker with a good head on her shoulders. We greatly appreciated her in our workplace”.
Outside of work, Lorilee stays deeply involved in her community. She enjoys traveling with her kids, supporting them in their academic and athletic pursuits, walking her dog Kennedy, and practicing yoga. As a certified yoga instructor, she especially enjoys sharing the practice with youth in local schools.
Her commitment to service is evident in her roles on the Sidney Chamber Board, the Foundation for Community Care Board, and currently as a member of the advisory committee for the Women’s Foundation of Montana. She is a graduate of Leadership Montana and remains active in the organization’s statewide network. Lorilee also regularly volunteers for her children’s teams and activities.
Of all her achievements, Lorilee is most proud of the resilience she has built through life’s challenges. Her journey has been one of growth, change, and meaningful impact, both personally and professionally. Being named to the 20 Over 40 is an honor Lorilee receives with gratitude. It reflects not only her work ethic and leadership but also the values she carries from her roots in rural Montana: strength, service, and a deep commitment to others.
