Well you haven't seen it all until you have seen Main Street in Sidney filled with pens of bull and heifers for the Best of the West Beef Showcase.  2003 was the first year of this event and it was a grand success for both the Chamber and the breeders involved.

This day is a great way for breeders of all types of beef to show off their stock and advertise their sales.  The Agriculture Committee at the Chamber worked very hard for two years to put the Showcase together. 

They gave away 4 awards of $250 in beef bucks which winners used to purchase an animal from a breeder at the show.  We also gave away $250 in Chamber bucks to a lucky winner.  Other prizes throughout the day included a City of Sidney clock, donated by Mayor Brett Smelser, also a special Montana Silversmith buckle was given to a breeder who showed his cattle that day.  The committee plans on continuing with these prizes in the upcoming shows. 

The 2007 date has already been set for February 6th.  You can put the event on other upcoming calendars as the first Tuesday in February.
